A few words about veneers…

Have you been thinking about improving your smile? Maybe you have heard about veneers. Perhaps you think they are just for celebrities or maybe you really don’t know what they are. So, here’s a quick guide to veneers.

Porcelain veneers are thin shells of porcelain that are custom fit to your teeth. They are quite thin, usually ranging in thickness from the thickness of a contact lens to that of a credit card. Porcelain veneers usually take 2-3 appointments from start to finish.

Veneers are a permanent way to change your teeth. They are a conservative way to change your tooth’s color, size or shape. Veneers can be used to transform teeth that are stained by tetracycline or other sources, to cover discolored fillings, to close gaps, to restore chipped and worn teeth and to straighten your teeth without braces. They can transform your smile into everything you’ve ever wanted it to be.

Because there are several different types of veneers, including composite resin, lumineers and porcelain veneers, it is best to ask your dentist what he/she thinks is the best treatment for you. Veneers are an excellent way to improve your appearance and restore your simle and your confidence.
